[Part one: "Half Manne"] The easiest part of this song to replicate on guitar is the high pitched chime that plays on the first and third beats of many measures in "Half Manne." The chime is an F#, playable on guitar by picking the high e string with a finger on the 14th fret. Listen to the original recording from the album Bandana to see where Madlib cuts the chime in and out. The main melody of the "Half Manne" beat/instrumental gets played at different octaves at different parts of the song. Sometimes at different octaves at the same time by different instruments. In an attempt to make a tab playable for one guitar, I've tabbed out the melody in three different octaves you can alternate between or not to suit your taste and skill level. If you have two guitar players you can have each player play different octaves in unison as the song progresses. Refer to the original recording to figure out what ones to play when to copy Madlib's arrangement most faithfully. Highest pitch/octave tab: e|-14--12------------------------------------------------------12--| B|---------15--14--12------12--14--15--14--12------12--13--15------| G|---------------------11----------------------11------------------| D|-----------------------------------------------------------------| (repeat) A|-----------------------------------------------------------------| E|-----------------------------------------------------------------| One octave down from that: e|-2--0-----------------------------------------0------------------| B|-------3--2--0-----0--2--3--2--0-----0--2--3---------------------| G|-----------------------------------------------------------------| D|----------------4-----------------4------------------------------| (repeat) A|-----------------------------------------------------------------| E|-----------------------------------------------------------------| Two octaves down: e|-----------------------------------------------------------------| B|-----------------------------------------------------------------| G|-----------------------------------------------------------------| D|-4--2--0-----------------0-----------------0--2------------------| (repeat) A|----------4--2-----2--4-----4--2-----2--4------------------------| E|----------------2-----------------2------------------------------| The last tabbable piece of this first instrumental section comes from what sounds like a keyboard during the chorus alternating between two chords that harmonize with the melody lines transcribed above. [Chorus] e|-3-------2-------3-------2------------------------------| B|-3-------3-------3-------3------------------------------| G|-0-------0-------0-------0------------------------------| D|-0-------0-------0-------0------------------------------| A|--------------------------------------------------------| E|--------------------------------------------------------| [Part two: "Half Cocaine"] The instrumental of this half has a barebones, drum driven beat dominated by a prominent vocal sample that I have not attempted to turn into a guitar line. Only one guitar needed for this half with so much less to play. This tab replicates the two note piano(?) line that repeats throughout this half and the repeated note that plays softly in the background (listen to the original to see where the beat cuts outif you want to be most faithful to the original): e|-----------------------------------------------------------------| B|-----------3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-----------3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3---| G|-----------------------------------------------------------------| D|-1----0-------------------------1----0---------------------------| (repeat) A|-----------------------------------------------------------------| E|-----------------------------------------------------------------|
