Sleep Walking

A riff A Last night you know I couldn't sleep A I was tossing, turning, and counting sheep D To tell the truth A The next thing I knew E I woke up on the outside F A In the middle of the avenue A A policeman spied me in traffic there A In my t-shirt and my underwear D He said, son, son A It sure don't look good E The way you've been calling for your baby F A All over the neighborhood D It seems I was sleepwalking G A Again last night D G The way I was sweet talking B E It must have caused a terrible fright F A Last night when I was sleepwalking A Someone saw me at a doughnut shop A I was sitting, crying on a tabletop D It was not a pretty sight A I was out of control E The way that I was carrying on F A About my sweet jelly roll D I said officer please G A My baby's got me down on my knees D Lying in bed G Late at night B F E Sometimes I just go out of my head A And I go out sleepwalking A Later on down at the jail cell A I was hoping things would turn out well D Because I don't recall A That masquerade ball E And I sure don't remember nothing y'all F A About that blown up rubber doll D It seems I was sleepwalking G A Again last night D G The way I was sweet talking B E It must have caused a terrible fright F A Last night when I was sleepwalking A So lately I've stopped going anywhere A And I've taken to sleeping with a teddy bear D It's a very full and rich A Imaginary life E And I sure given up dreaming y'all F E About any imaginary wife A No more Sleep Walking A No more Dream Talking
