C F C G C F Well I never sold my soul to the devil but I did put it in hawk C G And the price I paid to get it back took everything I got C F I ain’t got nothin left to show for my life on the West Coast C G Except a couple of dusty notebooks and a thousand hungry ghosts C F I don’t get out much anymore since I left Denver last fall C G Except when I go down to the corner bar to watch Hoosiers basketball C F Me and my girl make up every time we have a fight C G I drink myself to sleep but I don’t sleep through the night C F I got me a factory job down on the Kentucky line C G In a town of boarded up shotgun houses with no trespassing signs C F C I got a lil bedroom overlooking 7th street, it aint much to look at G C But its good for weary feet F C When you know what it’s like to have nothin to lose F G you don’t really mind these Indiana blues C F I used to make fun of kids that never left their hometown C G But at least they know where to go when their world is upside down C F I’ll try to right some wrongs, save some money and write some songs C G That ill inevitably wind up tearing into shreds C F And the moment that this piece of shit Dodge breaks down again C G C All that money that I saved up will be spent F C But at least the corner store got cheap cigarettes and booze F G It really helps out with these Indiana blues C F I got no reason to stay here I got no reason to leave C G Should I go out to Philly or down to Memphis Tennessee F C I reckon that by summertime I will have to choose F G Between the open road and these Innnnndiana Blues
