Day By Day

E A Day by day and with each passing moment B E Strength I find to meet my trials here; C#m A Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment, B E I've no cause for worry or for fear. E A He's whose heart is kind beyond all measure B E Gives unto each day what He deems best- C#m A Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure, B E Mingling toil with peace and rest. E A Everyday the Lord Himself is near me B E With a special mercy for each hour; C#m A All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me, B E He whose name is Counselor and Power E A The protection of His child and treasure B E Is a charge that on Himself He laid; C#m A "As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure," B E This the pledge to me He made. E A Help me then in every tribulation B E So to trust Thy promises, O Lord, C#m A That I lose not faith's sweet consolation B E Offered me within Thy holy Word. E A Help me Lord, when toil and trouble meeting, B E E'er to take, as from a father's hand, C#m A One by one, the day, the moments fleeting, B E 'Til I reach the promised land.
