Em C Bm D Em A pearl in the red sea, a flower in the field, C the changing of the leaves Bm You are in the clouds, the grass, the distant hills D How could we not see? Em Poetry and prose. It’s in the shape, the color, C the smell of a rose Bm You left love letters written in Your hand D B/D# For the careful eye to read. Em But we misread C and gave Your glory to the birds G D B/D# We gave Your honor to Your works instead Em But we misread C and chased the sun, the moon, the stars G to try to find out who we are D and from where we came Em C Bm D Em When the dawn breaks, in every sunset C the heavens they proclaim Bm in a voice that goes out to the ends of the earth D B/D# the splendour of Your name Em But we misread C and gave Your glory to the birds G D B/D# We gave Your honor to Your works instead Em But we misread C and chased the sun, the moon, the stars G to try to find out who you are D and from where we came Em But this beauty still will fade. C All this loveliness is destined to decay. Bm In this dying world, even nature waits D for the glory that shall be Em On our way to death, C we wait to truly be alive G D to fall before our God and cry Holy G G/F# Em C Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord
