The January Blues

A I woke up this morning and I fell out of bed A With a pain in my stomach and a pain in my head D I woke up with the feeling of impending doom A so I picked up the guitar and I penned this tune E I overdid it over Christmas D with the food and the booze A I woke up this morning E with the January blues A I said to myself there'll be changes around here A Cut out all the takeaways A and stay off the beer D I'm going to the gym, gonna go every day A Learn a new language, run 100k E It will probably last for a week A E January blues, Jesus January's bleak A You know it's so damn dark and dreary out there A so I'll declutter the clutter under the stairs D Gonna go through my wardrobe, only keep what I need A why the hell do I own so much tweed? E D So I'll go downstairs and put it all in the bin A but then 20 minutes later take it back out again A At Christmas I saw every single one of my friends A Now I never wanna socialize ever again D I'm gonna stop drinking wine on a school night A unless it's a special occasion, well then I might E D like a birthday or a wedding or I'm watching TV A E look it's January man, what do you want from me? A I'll reduce my carbon footprint and eat less meat A Give up smoking, drinking, sniffing glue, dairy and wheat D I'll donate to charity for a good cause A Visit my Granny, say vase not vase E D I'm gonna be better, gonna make a fresh start A E Who am I kidding, I'm falling apart A I'll get a personal trainer to make me fit A and I'll run around the park until I get sick D Make vegetarian lasagne A And learn to play the harmonica (Harmonica Solo) E D A E7
