G C G Was up on the range today C D Looking for some old friends C D There was a bad fire this year C D Destroyed nearly everything up there G C G Grandpa George Sam C D Used to take me to this spring in the ground C D On Horseback when I was a young boy C D It flows on the surface of the mountain G D C Just like an old Mexican Cenote G D He used to leave a steel cup C D Hanging in a tree G D C And we would drink the cold mountain water D C While his horse blue eye did the same D C And I’ll never forget those days G D C Just like an old Mexican Cenote G C Well today was my first trip D Back to that spring C D Since the fire tore through everything G D C And I Can’t believe how different everything looks G D C C D I didn’t find that steel cup, I know it’s there somewhere C D Just like the memories of my grandpa C D His horse blue eye, and the water still flows G D C Just like an old Mexican Cenote G D He used to leave a steel cup C D Hanging in a tree G D C And we would drink the cold mountain water D C While his horse blue eye did the same D C And I’ll never forget those days G D C Just like an old Mexican Cenote G D C Just like an old Mexican Cenote G D C G
