G G7 i don’t miss the woolen jackets and the winter caps C Cm scratchy scarves, bulky boots, how every day my lips were chapped G D my dermatologist’s a firm apologist of winter weather G G i used every type of cream and lip balm and i’m still not better G G7 ‘side from skin, i don’t miss my itchy thermal sheepskin socks, C Cm i’d been waiting since december for the vernal equinox G D and thankfully it’s here, no more driving through the permafrost, G G i don’t need a coffee thermos, i can turn my furnace off, G G7 and note to self: i’ve been waiting months for all this snow to melt, C Cm and finally it’s gone and I can venture out of our room G D frolic in the foliage, kick back and watch the flowers bloom G G and breathe the open air as the heavens shine bright in powder blue G G7 there’s just one little problem though that I didn’t account for C Cm every fucking weather forecast has chance of downpour G D just one little issue, and yes, i’m a bit impatient G G but i haven’t waited all this time for more precipitation G G7 like weather gods, there’s just one little thought i’m tryna get across, C Cm i don’t expect things perfect but at least just give me better odds, G D like lately i’d been hoping that the tones of grey would fade G G and that sky would yawn cerulean, not rain on my parade G G7 and I know I’m being harsh on you but I’m not tryna scapegoat C Cm it’d just be nice to go outside without wearing a raincoat G without holding umbrellas, D G the sidewalk nice and chalky with no puddles there to waddle through, G wearing nothing waterproof, G G7 but maybe on on the bright side it’s a fair bet C Cm to think the sun is over on her way here but not here yet G D so let’s go get our hair wet, f**k it, let’s go dancing in bare feet on the rooftops super carefree G G with the patter of the dewdrops as our jukebox, G G7 and run for cover at a nearby coffee shop C Cm where we can dry our parka and our rubberized galoshes off G D and we’ll just take a rain check for that picnic in the grass G G and sip our lattes by the window as the drizzle hits the glass G G7 The weather, oh oh the weather C Cm ruining my plans come on and get it together. G G7 Okay, so I'm feeling like I took a bit to see the light C Cm Routinely stayed inside so I could keep a peace of mind G D But now I stay in fright of white little sparkles in the air G G And while I'm waiting for the showers seems these months are ever there G G7 They never go away but sit complacent C Where as I'm wishing I could see the pavement, latent hating Cm G On the continents that feel the burn when school is out and tables turn D G Skin hurts and things are said that because the heat just makes you think to G G7 But despite the fact it truly makes you think about the people C Cm And I'm praying to a deity cause recently this weather has me overweight G D The perfect time for dates but yet we're snowed in in our place G G And it gets cold out when it's late so baby don't forget the blankets G G7 And reminiscing and dreaming can keep us warm for just a while C Cm But darling won't you turn the thermostat right up to winter dial G D We can hibernate to skip our fate and jump to summer, first comes spring G G But don't forget the droplets and the storming it might bring G G7 I'm exhausted, I'm just wondering when I'll feel the rays again C Cm Maybe never will I see the sun or things that are akin G D And yet these google images will only get me oh so far G G And yes my thinking may be strewed I know my thoughts may be bizarre G I greet these trials with a smile and grin G7 for whatever reason C Cm I can keep my calm and know that you'll be there for the seasons that I hate G D You could help me hold on so that I could bare the wait G G It's understated just as much on how this seasons overplayed G G7 C Cm We could stay inside together, you and I in matching sweaters G D G And though it may just be forever, me and you could beat the weather G G7 C Cm Oh I know, that summer time is overdue G D G But I know I can make it girl as long as it's with you G G7 The weather, oh oh the weather C Cm ruining my plans come on and get it together.
