Am C D When to the sessions of sweet silent thought Am C D I summon up remembrance of things past, Am C D I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought, Am C And with old woes new wail my dear time's D waste: F G Em F Then can I drown an eye, unused to flow, F G For precious friends hid in death's dateless Em F night, F G And weep afresh love's long since cancell'd Em F woe, F G And moan the expense of many a vanish'd Em F sight: Am C D Then can I grieve at grievances foregone, Am C D And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er Am C D The sad account of fore-bemoaned moan, Am C D Which I new pay as if not paid before C But if the while I think on thee, dear Am friend, C Am All losses are restor'd and sorrows end Am C D F
