D E G I’m thankful for the freedom and I’m thankful for my friends, C G Em D There’s not too many good ones but the good one’s never bend. G Em C Been all over this old Country, every road and every run, G D G And I’m thankful for this life of freedom seeing from this old truck. C F G C F G G D E G Oh, I’m thankful for this sunrise when the eastern sky’s a glow C G Em D A thousand miles from nowhere where the desert breezes blow G Em C And the roaring of the diesel sings its own home coming song G D G And I’m thankful for the wealth and you that waits for me back home. D E G This big old iron horse of mine has muscles made of steel C G Em D There’s diesel in those veins and I know every sound and feel G Em C I’ve been with trucks just all my life, a car I’ve never owned G D G A car to me is just a bicycle with fancy lights and chrome.
