A D A glorious band, the chosen few, A E On whom the Spirit came, A A7 D Twelve valiant saints--their hope they knew A E A And mocked the cross and flame. A A7 D They met the tyrant's brandished steel, E7 The lion's gory mane; A D They bowed their necks their death to feel-- A E7 A Who follows in their train? A D A noble army, men and boys, A E The matron and the maid, A A7 D Around the Savior's throne rejoice, A E A In robes of light arrayed.
