C F G F G Would my words be true and kind if He were never far away? F C Would I try to share the gospel? F G F C G F Would I speak more rev’rently if I could see the Savior standing nigh, F G C watching over me? C G F If the Savior stood beside me, C G Would my thoughts be clean and pure? C F G F G Would His presence give me strength and hope and courage to endure? F C Would His counsel guide my actions? F G F C G F Would I choose more worthily if I could see the Savior standing nigh F G C watching over me? C G F He is always near me, C G though I do not see Him there, C F G F G And because He loves me dearly, I am in His watchful care, F C So I’ll be the kind of person F G F C G F that I know I’d like to be if I could see the Savior standing nigh F G C watching over me.
