Sign On The Door

Asus E wendy sittin next to me (F#sus?) (Dsus) she's tryin hard to drink it away Asus E and i feel the rumble (F#sus?) (Dsus) of the subway beneath the stage and her eyes are screamin and her lips are pursed this ain't her first heartache but it feels like, feels like the worst, and she says Asus E (Bsus?) can someone tell me how this can happen Asus E (Bsus?) i guess that god only knows Asus E (Bsus?) my heart used to be a sweet shop of love Asus E Dsus---- but now the sign on the door says, "sorry, we're closed" and i hear myself tell her some old words, know they won't help and then i feel guilty 'cause i've closed some sweet shops myself we all talk about timing and lifestyles and such but to a heart that's been shattered words don't mean much all of our pining, it just goes to show don't you enter a shop with a sign on the door sayin sorry we're closed well, she's been through all the pain that one can endure and this new man thinks she loves him, but he can't be sure his heart cries for wendy, she says that's how it goes well how was i supposed to know he can't read the sign sayin sorry we're closed
