When I Cry

G I'm not pretty when I cry C I'm usually so good at keeping my troubles inside D But they come bursting out no matter how I try C I hug myself until my arms are tired G I don't know why C I can't just work my issues out in time D My impatient mind just runs and rolls and snowballs C Until it's smothered every good thing I had going, G and I'm trying, and I'm going to survive C Curled in a ball to protect what's in my mind D What's left after all the thoughts have run through C And devoured, and laid waste to me.
