Am G C Am I dream that a fire from our bed spread all through town F C G Am But in the morning, the house still was cold Am G C Am A magnificent dream nonetheless, revelatory F C G Am So suddenly met by tomorrow's sunny window Am G C Am No breakfast, no time, off to town, no delay F C G Am We need the fire there to warm up our sad bones Am G C Am If we greet them with warmth, they may grant us welcome F C G Am Though each of us must walk next to our lonesome Am G C Am Trees by the road gravely loom and feign to hide F C G Am New buildings, eye-catching, like bad food packaging Am G C Am In their parking lots, cans and bottles echo soft F C G Am And shiny paint jobs rest on the mid-priced cars Am G C Am So much depends on each separate perception F C G Am Each soul's made the god of a separate creation Am G C Am All the modern masters don't know the power they hold F C G Am Even they must be tricked and think they walk alone Am G C Am Giving all their best and being uncompensated F C G Am Lamenting that they only wished to belong but get enslaved Am G C Am My god, what has become of the world we could share?
